Destek Patent's Special Award for High School Entrepreneurs

The Turkish finals of the "GençBizz Inter-High School Entrepreneurship Program," organized by the Genç Başarı Eğitim Vakfı (Young Success Education Foundation), took place this year on May 25-26. The program, which featured nearly 500 initiatives where high school students established their own small-scale companies with zero capital, produced and sold real products and services within the school grounds, was launched. Among the 35 high school entrepreneurial projects that made it to the finals was the "Sea Waste Filter" project.

The Türkiye final of the "GençBizz Inter-High School Entrepreneurship Program" organized by the Genç Başarı Education Foundation took place on May 25-26 this year.

In the program, where high school students established their own small-scale companies with zero capital, produced and sold real products/services within the boundaries of their schools, nearly 500 initiatives were implemented; among the 35 high school initiatives that made it to the finals, Entella GençBizz Company, which won first place in Turkey with its "filter that collects waste from the sea surface," was presented with the Destek Patent Special Award by Support Units Director Faruk Yamankaradeniz within the scope of the Destek Patent corporate social responsibility project "Own Your Idea."

While the GençBizz Company named Tensopathy, founded by the students of the METU Development Foundation Private High School, came in second with its business idea of "producing medical products that prevent neuropathy problems that may occur in cancer patients," the GençBizz Company named Pio The Company, founded by the students of İzmir Atatürk High School, which developed "a portable product that cleans headphones and hearing aids," came in third in the competition.

HIGH SCHOOL ENTREPRENEURS BECAME EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS

Entella Genç Bizz, the Turkish winner of this year's Genç Bizz Inter-High School Entrepreneurship Program, sponsored by Destek Patent, took first place in Europe at the European Company of the Year Competition held in France. The young entrepreneurs, who won first place in Turkey with their filter project to collect sea waste, also received the FedEx Access Award, a special award given to sustainable initiatives with high potential to create new opportunities by bringing countries closer together.
