The ÜSİMP Patent Fair, showcasing technologies developed at universities for which patent applications have been filed or registered, opens to the public at the Harbiye Military Museum on November 8. The fair aims to introduce both domestic and foreign industrialists to patents with commercial potential and to assess the commercialization possibilities of patented inventions.
“Both universities and industrialists will benefit”
Destek Patent is among the participating and sponsoring companies of the ÜSİMP Patent Fair. Kemal Yamankaradeniz, Chairman of the Board of Destek Patent, one of Türkiye's leading and well-established patent organizations, commented on the fair:
We attach great importance to the commercialization of knowledge generated at universities. This model, in particular, was focused on years ago in the US, with very successful results. The importance and necessity of implementing a similar model in our country are clear. Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) were established within our universities for this purpose. These offices should serve as a bridge between industry and universities. ÜSİMP is opening the technology portfolios of Technology Transfer Offices to industry representatives and investors. A total of 145 inventions from 11 universities leading technology transfer in our country, 100 of which have been submitted and 45 of which have been registered, across 10 different categories, will perhaps meet with investors at this fair, gain commercial value, and contribute to the national economy. As a company representing the patent sector, we want to emphasize the importance of ÜSİMP.
