We must never forget that intellectual property, and every breakthrough that results in progress, is only possible through social unity and gender equality. History has always demonstrated that social development and progress require women to be actively engaged in production, not isolated from society through their intelligence and talent. We know that an approach that doesn't assign specific gender roles to women, but rather elevates them to uniqueness through their intelligence and talent, plays a central role in a civilized society.

We see how women's creativity and their original, innovative and unique way of thinking have broken new ground in science and art. From the expansions made by the creative thinking of Ursula K. Le Guin, who passed away very recently, to the innovative comfort that Coco Chanel offered to the fashion world after a difficult life; from Mary Anderson, who invented car window wipers, to Ada Byron Lovelance, who invented the first computer program; from Stephanie Kwolek, who invented the bulletproof vest, to Marie Cuire, who discovered radioactivity and was therefore called “the woman who died for science,” these show that the unique innovations that women's creativity has left to human history span a very wide range. From the creativity and determination of Ümmiye Koçak, who founded the “Arslanköy Women's Theater Company” in our country, with almost no means, and pioneered the staging of thousands of plays; From the curiosity and diligence of Burçin Mutlu Pakdil, who was pursuing her doctoral studies in astrophysics in the USA last year, to the discovery of the rare double-ringed galaxy, the boundless creativity and innovation of women that reach from the depths of the human soul to the depths of the universe, inspire and give hope to all of humanity.

We believe that what sets women apart from men isn't physical strength, but intelligence and talent nurtured without being deprived of opportunities. Happy World Intellectual Property Day! We believe that social and universal development depends on the value placed on women, regardless of the era or the circumstances. We believe that intellectual property is only possible through gender equality.
