There are 4 New Domestic Technologies Developed for Submarines

HAVELSAN operates in a way to meet all needs of the Command and Control Deputy Directorate in the field of underwater technology. HAVELSAN is also at the service of the Navy to offer reliable, competitive, and locally-produced systems for all types of warships.

Operating in the area of software-intensive systems, HAVELSAN has also taken steps to register the solutions and products that resulted from their investments in submarine technologies.

Making extensive R&D investments in underwater technologies, HAVELSAN carries on studies for the development of national Sonar Integrated Submarine Combat Management System and national Torpedo Firing Control System with its local resources.

The company has applied for patent rights for its original products such as Submarine Defense Torpedo Firing Control System, Submarine Data Distribution System, Situational Target Movement Analysis, Online Performance Analysis System Used In Underwater Platforms, as a result of the studies conducted in this area.

Submarine Data Distribution System enables the submarine to conduct navigational and operational activities safely and securely. The system collects the high speed raw information in accordance with the interface protocols, prioritizes the data in an order chosen by the user, records them for control and analysis, and enables the automatic distribution of critical data through backup channels to the relevant systems in case of a malfunction.

Submarine Defense Torpedo Firing Control System is based on an original firing control algorithm that aims the control and guidance of a modern generic torpedo.

Situational Target Movement Analysis can be used in all platforms that operate target tracking and data fusion, especially in submarines and underwater vehicles that use passive sensors intensively.

The Online Performance Analysis System Used In Underwater Platforms enables the automation of such operations as the analyses necessary for the marine practice and performance analyses in submarines and underwater platforms with measurement precision, the reduction of time spent in the water, suitable and platform-wide analysis of possible problems in the systems.

80 million liras invested in R&D activities;

Ahmet Hamdi Atalay, the General Manager of HAVELSAN, explained to the AA reporter that the company had been humble regarding the R&D activities and their patent rights.

Pointing out that the company conducted R&D activities that cost 80 million liras last year using both local and external resources, Atalay said "We have been conducting many R&D activities in the company. We should be obtaining many patent rights as a result of these activities. The patent applications have been below our expectations for some reasons such as that it was hard to get patent in software and that these activities were not particularly preferred. We have been encouraging patent applications for our employees lately. We believe that the number of patents will increase thanks to our R&D activities."
