International Success of the Turkish Students

The Turkish youngsters who participated in the ISEF science competition, which was organized in Phoenix, USA under the sponsorship of Intel, have won three awards in the "special awards" category. While 5 students owning 3 projects have won the special award, 2 students owning 1 project have won the fourth prize.

Organized for the 46th time in 2015 by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), the Secondary Level Students Research Projects Competition resulted in many ranking students, 17 of whom owning 10 projects competed in INTEL ISEF project competition. INTEL ISEF project competition, which was held between May 8-13, 2016 in Arizona - Phoenix, USA, brought good news for Turkey.

İlke Adalıoğlu and Cemil Görkem Tamer from Takev Science High School, Izmir have won the international company SPIE special award with their project "Characterization of blue fluorescent oled and seven segment display application",

Ece Derin Aydın and Begüm Kınay from Takev Science High School have won the Qatar Foundation special award with their projects called "Science overcomes drug addiction: A new approach on monitoring the receptors overexpress on brain cells",

and Çağatay Soylu from TED Malatya College has won the America-based company United Technologies special award with his project "Energy efficient magnetic stove".

The grand awards in ISEF 2016 competition, which was sponsored by INTEL and had 1750 high school students from 77 countries around the world with over 1000 projects competing, were granted to their owners at the ceremony on May 13, Friday.
