TUBITAK calls Young Talents to a Competition

Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) has announced three different competitions for university students regarding industry-focused undergraduate, university entrepreneurship and innovation, and software projects.

According to the explanation of TÜBİTAK, the Directorate of Science Fellowships and Grant Programs (BİDEB) has organized three different competitions in industry, entrepreneurship and innovation, and software to offer university students a chance to carry out projects at the beginning of their career, which would contribute to science, economy, and industry.

Teams of at most 3 students will apply to "e-bideb.tubitak.gov.tr" between April 4 and May 27 for the industry-focused graduation projects competition, university entrepreneurship and innovation competition, and undergraduate students' software projects competition, which will be organized for the 4th time this year. With the academic jury evaluations that will be made at the end of the competitions, the projects winning the first place will be awarded 10.000 liras, the second place will be awarded 7.500 liras, and the third place will be awarded 5.000 liras in each category.

The university entrepreneurship and innovation competition are aimed at raising the awareness of entrepreneurship and innovation among associate degree, undergraduate, and graduate students, supporting entrepreneurial and innovative ideas in every field of life, and helping young minds adopt an inquisitive culture. Besides, the category of science center exhibition unit design is added to the competition. It is aimed at designing unique and qualified exhibition unit samples for science centers, which encourage their visitors to try and explore with interactive teaching approach.

The industry-focused graduation projects competition is aimed at helping undergraduate students, who are studying at the departments of engineering, technology, natural, social and medical science, and humanities, and agronomics, develop products with high potential of applicability and design future projects by collaborating with industry and business world for their theses. The industrial and academic advisors of the winning-projects in this category will be awarded half of the prize that will be granted to the project owners.

And the undergraduate students' software projects competition is aimed at increasing the international competitive power of the country with the tangible projects developed by undergraduate students, offering solutions to the problems in information technologies by supporting the projects in this field, contributing to the development of the sector, and encouraging students to improve their knowledge and skills. The competition will be organized in 4 sub-categories as scientific solutions, smart and technological solutions, social life and entertainment applications, and open-source software applications. Besides, the academic advisors of the winning-projects in this category will be awarded half of the prize that will be granted to the project owners.
