The efforts have been made to open the program of Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Rights, jointly organized by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, World Intellectual Property Rights Organization, and Ankara University in our country for the first time.

The Consensus Protocol of the Master program was signed by Prof. Dr. Habip ASAN, President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, and Prof. Dr. Abdullah ATALAR, Rector of Bilkent University, on May 22, 2015.

The program, which is among the limited global master programs jointly organized by WIPO, is a first in Turkey. The courses of international program will be conducted in English and offered to international students as well.

The Program, which is expected to be announced and start receiving applications in February, 2016, aims at meeting our country's need for the resource of people highly educated in intellectual and Intellectual property rights.

Attending the courses of the program that will be conducted in English, the students will be highly equipped with information about intellectual and Intellectual property rights including the international law and practices when they complete the program.

The program can be considered an example of the academic realization of supports, which have been provided by the Ministry of Science, Industry, and Technology for the creation of innovative intellectual products, designs, inventions, and world brands, as a result of the negotiations between the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office and WIPO starting in 2010.

The program will not also serve the development of the Intellectual Property Rights system in our country, but also contribute to the international reputation of Turkey in the Intellectual Property Rights field.
