Etohum Declared the Initiatives to Invest in 2016

Etohum announced the start-ups in which it will invest in 2016. The selection of Etohum, which announced at the Startup Summit, organized on January 30, Saturday, that 21 different start-ups were included in their 2016 program, involves a wide geography and industry.

2016 selection of Etohum, which has recently started to invest in foreign start-ups as well, extends all the way to India. However, the numbers are with the Turkey-based start-ups. Etohum was criticized for not giving place to the Turkish start-ups on the stage at Startup Turkey event organized last year. The rate of foreign start-ups in Etohum 2016 investments was limited to 25 percent.

One of the innovations made by Etohum this year is publishing the partnership protocol it signed with the start-ups. (You can take a look at our news of the previous year's start-ups for the relevant criticism.) Publishing a copy of the protocol on its official website before the Startup Summit, Etohum had made the details of the process transparent.

It is possible for entrepreneurs to check the protocol and have an idea of the investment amount of Etohum. The initial capital of the incorporations in Turkey varies from minimum 50.000 to 10.000 liras. Stating that a 5 percent share of the incorporations to be established by the chosen start-ups will be claimed, Etohum bases this decision on nominal share value. Etohum also has the right to buy a 5% share of the incorporation at any time chosen by Etohum and for a price specified in the agreement within two years after the establishment of the incorporation.
