Investment in Technology Helps SMEs Make Difference

According to GoDaddy, the world's largest small business-focused technology provider, 2016 will be a year of evolution in technology, not a revolution.

Referring to the importance of SMEs, GoDaddy EMEA Vice President Stefano Maruzzi stated: "As the world continues to evolve with technological initiatives and innovation, it is getting more and more important for SMEs in Turkey to adapt to this". Current data shows that the average rate of entrepreneurship in Turkey is nearly two points higher than the EU average. However, when it comes to skills and innovation, it seems that SMEs in Turkey remain 0.5 points behind of their peers in Europe."

Maruzzi said that "while continuing to grow, the SMEs in Turkey should also take advantage of opportunities to improve their businesses by using the existing technologies. SMEs do not need the budgets of large companies in order to use new technologies that will add value to their businesses. It is quite important for the SMEs in Turkey to adapt to technology in order to be in an advantageous position in competition in both local and global platforms."

Stefano Maruzzi also said that SMEs' investment in technology in 2016 will enable them to differentiate.

2.6 million companies operate in Turkey and SMEs constitute 99 percent of them. This is an indication that SMEs are the driving force of Turkey's economy.
