Mobile Charger Robot by Volkswagen

New ideas are put forward against the charging problem that has emerged with the electric vehicles getting popular. The idea of a mobile charging robot that Volkswagen is working on appears to provide drivers with great convenience in parking spaces.

Volkswagen's robot goes near the car on its own, charging the car. The robot, which can be activated via an app on smartphones or connected car systems, can turn on the charging input and plug it into the car after being called. In addition to this, when the process is over, the robot, which can charge the other vehicles, returns to the energy storage station named as the "battery wagon" by Volkswagen. Each of these wagons has a power of 25 kWh and can fast charge up DC to 50 kWh. The robot can move comfortably in the field and even recognize and react to the obstacles it encounters.

Mark Möller, head of Volkswagen Group Components, states that this robot is revolutionary for electric vehicles and could reduce the need for fixed charging stations.
