Adidas Lost its Logo (the one with three stripes) for the Third Time

Adidas registered its three-striped logo with EUIPO in May 2014, 5 months after the registration, a German shoe brand requested the cancellation of this registration on the grounds that "the trademark has no distinctiveness". In regard to this request, on the date of June 30, 2016, the revocation review department by EUIPO decided to revoke the trademark, and Adidas appealed the decision on the grounds that "the trademark has gained distinctive character through use". When the EUIPO Appeals Board rejected the appeal due to insufficient evidence, Adidas brought the EUIPO's annulment decision to the European Union General Court. However, the General Court did not see Adidas' claims in the case in place and approved the EUIPO's annulment decision on June 19, 2019. It is a matter of curiosity what other arguments Adidas will use to keep its logo protected from now on.
