A revolutionary innovation from Turkish entrepreneurs in orthodontia treatment

Turkish entrepreneurs produced transparent plates that can serve as an alternative to braces used in the treatment of dental disorders such as tooth alignment as well as palate and jaw disorders. The four entrepreneurs who made the patent application of their invention named "Orthodontic Treatment System" through the trademark attorneyship of Destek Patent became some of the pioneers of Industry 4.0 in Turkey.

Seyyid Bucak, who stated that these are the first locally produced personalized transparent appliances in Turkey that are comparatively more comfortable than metal braces and easily inserted and removed when desired, described the details of the treatment and said,

"Firstly, the impression of the patient's mouth is taken. Data on the patient's mouth is obtained via 3D printers and these data are transferred to the computer environment. Personalized transparent plates are produced afterward. The patient uses each plate for a short period of around 2 weeks before start using the next plate. The movement of the teeth is simulated in the computer environment. The patient can see the shape their teeth are going to take before the treatment starts and the length of the treatment period is clear from the beginning".

Stating that there is a high demand for the technology from doctors and patients around the world, the company is preparing to open up to 5 different markets at the beginning of 2019.
