Submitted in 2018 but registered this year, this technology is based on analyzing the sounds received by the microphone of the device on which the application is used. Analyzing the mood and even the environment of the users based on the sounds, the technology will be able to understand whether the user is happy, angry, sad, or neutral by analyzing their voice, the stress level of the voice, and the voice rhythm. Regarding the patent which is expected to lead to controversy, the Spotify R&D team stated that they were aware of the extreme privacy and sensitivity of personal digital history and therefore, potential misuses should also be taken into consideration. They also stated that they reject any research or application that violates the ethics of data utilization and is not transparent regarding user privacy.
