Apple Is Fined $300 Million For Patent Infringement

Apple has been fined $300 million for violating five different patents from Optis for wireless technologies it uses on its mobile devices. Following Optis patent lawsuit againts Apple in 2019, it was decided to pay Optis $506 million in damages last year. In April, however, it was decided to reduce the value of the compensation to $300 million. It turned out that the five patent that were the subject of the lawsuit were once owned by LG, Panasonic and Samsung, but were later obtained by Optis.
