Oracle Sues NEC

Oracle has filed a lawsuit against the Japanese information technology company NEC for alleged copyright infringement. Oracle, which has licensed the software to NEC since 2004 and stated that there were numerous incompatibilities with NEC's licenses in 2019, claimed that NEC distributed the software in a way that exceeded its rights, paid a lower license fee than it should have

, and changed the software without permission. It was also noted that the NEC uses the software in question in integra- ID 5, a biometric identification system that provides law enforcement agencies with fingerprint, face, voice and other matching capabilities.

According to the complaint, the software of Oracle Database, which provides reliable and secure storage, retrieval and modification of data as the company states, is one of the company's flagship products and has become the most popular corporate database in the world. It was also noted that the NEC has not addressed the audit findings since October 2020, despite various requests.
