Will Netflix Win The Game?

Netflix has taken action to protect the brand of its hit TV series Squid Game all over the World. Netflix has applied for trademarks in many countries, including Argentina, Canada, the European Union, Malaysia, Peru, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea and the USA. If the applications are approved, Netflix will acquire rights to the brand and use rights to a wide range of products and services where the brand can potentially be used, including marketing efforts, which is a key element of the release of any long standing blockbuster movie/series. In addition, it is observed that 15 trademark applications have been made in Turkey with the name of the series since September, when the South Korean made series went on broadcast.
